FIRE BOARDING

Have you got a non-fire-resistant material or structure you need to protect? Fire Boarding may be the solution. Fire Boarding prevents the spread of fire  and is used to encase and protect non-fire resistant materials.

Whether you want to protect something as big as structural steels or as small as shelves, Enfield SW are highly experienced in fitting fire-resistant board to encase non-fire-resistant materials and able to certificate the installation under our third party accreditation.

How does it work?

Fire boarding works by providing an insulating, fire resistant layer within wall cavities and around structural steels. It is designed to withstand heat and provides a protective layer to keep structural steel, or any other substance, below its failure temperature. The boards are treated with non-toxic additives to protect them from fire and are often made from gypsum, glass fibres and mineral wool, which help to keep the boards together should they come into contact with heat

Fire Boarding comes in two different forms:

• Durable Board Systems

• Mineral Board Systems
